On Pyromania

Pyromania does not need to be seen as evil, in a way its a spiritual liberating experience, its the near worship of one of the most powerful natural forces in existence, the very reason for our ascension to the top of the food chain. Pyromania is not an act. Nor is it a sickness. Pyromania is warped into the arena of death and destruction. It should be never be used as a weapon against others, people who use it thus give the rest of us a bad name. All through the ages we have intergrated and, up to a point, worshipped fire.
The ancient egyptians and their worship of Ra, the sun god.
The native indian americans, holding meetings around a roaring bonfire.
Even the humble braai, or bbq, the symbolic cooking of food over a fire shows us how important this element is.
Just as we cannot live without air or water, we cannot live without fire.
I declare that I am a pyromaniac, not deadly or destructive in any way. Although the maniac suffix is not the intention i wish to convey. A better word would be pyrophiliac.
I love fire. But again, do not attach the stigma of philiac to this. I am not aroused by it. I only really like it. So look into yourself. Do you, like me amd so many others, get a roaring excitement at looking at a really big bonfire, and feel the comfort of a small warming fire? If you do, then you know what I’m talking about.
